Has anyone dealt with Park Place LTD. in Bellevue, Wa? They have a '79 930 that looks great on the internet but with 72,000+ miles their price of $42,000 seems very high.

GT-3S #40: I have dealt with them in the past and had a good buying experience. The salesman I worked with no longer works there so I have no idea how things would be now. I did see the silver '79 930 a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful car but the the price is just to high considering the miles. It is on cosignment so you may be able to work the price down. I guess it is worth a try.

I am selling my silver 930. I was going to take it to Park Place in the next week or so, once the weather improved and my asking price is a lot lower then 42k.
Check it out at www.my930.com and let me know if you are interested in checking it out further. All service has been done by Chris's German Auto in Bellevue. I am the second owner and it has less then 50k miles.
Asking 33k

I have heard great things about Park Place but had my worst car experience EVER with them. I bought a 1992 C2 Turbo sight unseen in 1998 and the car was a wreck. The car was suppose to be "a diamond" "perfect". The clutch was bad, turbo was shot and 3/4 of the vehicle had been repainted -poorly, lots of small things. Not what you what expect from a "high line" auto dealer. Lucky for me the person who bought my old turbo the C2 turbo replaced was laywer in Seattle. He saw the car when he came to pick up my old 930. After a long two year legal battle I sold the car for a significant loss. I know my attorney spread the word in his circles about Park Place. He was pretty upset beceause he was a Park Place customer.
Someone from Barrett-Jackson Auctions inspected the car and could not believe the condition or how the car could be represented as "perfect".
I have purchased several cars sight unseen. All went well except for Park Place. Maybe I was just unlucky but to this day it still makes me mad.

Sight unseen always makes me nervous as I am picky. I think if I really wanted it, I would fly out and hand deliver the check. Then of course take a nice long drive home.

That slant price sounds very fair. Low miles. You are gonna pay $10-12K more for a slant compared to an equal condition non slant. Unless you just steal one from an ignorant seller or someone who has a bank foreclosing on their house on Monday (sometimes you get lucky).

I have had numerous dealings with Park Place Motors. Here are my purchases in the last 4 years.
1) 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet- great car and a fair price paid
2) 1966 Shelby 427SC Replica- Asking $42,700 paid $25,800 because it was a major fixxer.
3) 1997 Land Rover Discovery-piece of crap but cant blame Park Place
4) 1988 Porsche 930S Slantnose Cabriolet- paid $38,000 but the salesman sucked.
I had better buying experieneces when Andy Myers was there. The quality of cars are not as in good as they used to be and the prices are higher. I think they are relying alot on there prior reputation.
If the Slantnose coupe mentioned previously sold for $48,800, I will sell my Slantnose CABRIOLET for the same price to the first buyer. Wow.

Blaine-
Had I the money, I would have paid mid- to high 40s for your car. I think you got an absolute steal beyond compare. $38,000 usually only gets you a 965. 930S cars are a lot more difficult to find, and I know in my neck of the woods, $38,000 isnt going to get you a no issues slant, cab or not.
