89 - The G50 5 speed is worth the wait.

When I started looking for 930s I narrowed the search down to either the '86 or '89 years. The '89 for obvious reasons and the '86 because it was the only year of the all-leather interior and updated dash. Also, the '86 requires no rewiring to change out the headlights to H4s and had the CHMSL mounted at the top of the rear window instead of blocking the rear window and spoiling the lines of the car. Small things I know but I really like the aroma of the leather when I open the door of the car. Just leaves no doubt that this was Porsche's flagship back then.

I´ll join the rest of the group with my opinion, if you want to keep it standard, go for the -89 model with 5spd... For something to modify go for a earlier car (although recomending a 3,3L). As for all cars, newer ones tends to rack up extra weight here and there...
