Hi friends,
I have the 17inch Ruf speedline rims on my car. For the front I use 235/40 and at the rear 275/40. Some tell me that If I use 275/40 at the rear than I shld use 235/45 at the front. So which one is correct?
Secondly, can I go fatter at the rears? I know the rim which is 10 inch at the rear should take 285 but will I need to do any work on the rear fenders? Currently at 275 theres no rubbing.
Pls advise. Thanks.

Sameer,
If you use an H&R 14mm hub-centric spacer on the rear instead of the stock 28mm 930 rear spacer, 285's should fit and look great. But mock it up with the 14mm spacers first before you buy tires, so you know what kind of room you've got for the extra rubber. I've run 285's on my 17 x10 Ruf's, but my rear lips are shaved down to ~3mm (to fit my 315 Hoosiers on 17x11 Kinesis
).
Cheers! And Merry Christmas!!

Mike,
Thanks and yes I've got the spacers, not sure what size though. My next change I will go 285 which should be just nice for the power my rides producing.

I have 18x9 front with 255/35 and 18x11 rear with 315/30 Michelin Pilot Sport. http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/porsche4.htm
It's the black 930 on the grass.

Montgomery,
Our Ruf speedine rims are 10 inch wide in the rear and so far with me using 275, no problem at al and Mike has had 285 with no problems at all in fitment so I'm going 285 for my next change.
