FS Ad: Great deal on a special 3.6 Turbo (Sold)
I am putting my Speed Yellow 965 for sale in a couple of places and Rennlist classifieds. I thought I would post about it here to give Rennlisters a chance first to get this nice car at a very good price. (Asking 37k Euros only, People who have been Rennlist members for over a week will get a special discount)
Featured on the cover page of 911 & Porsche World "993 meets 964", February 2001 if I am not mistaken (I lost my copy) I purchased the car in the UK about one year ago and it is in excellent condition. Reason for sale: Funding my 993TT project. I did not do the export formalities when I shipped out of the UK, therefore the car should be able to go back to Europe without any Duties or VAT, this needs to be checked however. Over 30k Euros invested, with invoices and all records available.
Some specs:
71k kms
LHD
Speed Yellow
Cargraphic racing 19" wheels (Some rash, 300 Euros est. from Cargraphic), tires 60-70% life remaining
H&R adjustable suspension
OEM GT2 wing
Gemballa Front strut bar
Front bumper air intakes
Recaro driver seat Leather SPG, back Speed yellow, Yellow seat belts
Door aluminum sills
Techart pedals and dead pedal
Aluminum/CF shifter, hand brake
No sunroof (from factory)
Interior leather, roof, doors, carpets, dashboard in mint condition
Clifford Alarm
Etc..
Engine- Modified at JM Autos and Autofarm, PPI done when purchased at JZM in UK.
Estimated output around 450hp dyno sheet available.
Complete overhaul about 10k kms back, all joints, gaskets, seals, etc..
1Bar spring
K27/29 customized turbo
EVO2 camshafts
B&B exhaust system
Hayward and Scott hand made S/S rear muffler
Fuel distributor modified for better flow
993TT gearbox, 6 speed (perfect condition)
4WD conversion from 993TT
993TT floating brakes and calipers
etc..
Edit: Also RS Splitters, rain gutters and RS clutch
The car runs amazingly well, it just had its spark plugs, brakes, front windscreen replaced (chips) and regular maintenance done. No issues whatsoever with the engine or chassis, it is a really nice and very unique car. I can help on shipping and all other arrangements.
Please email at Jean@porschespeed.com for any questions, serious inquiries only please.
Apologies for the long post, I just thought I'd give as much details as possible.
Thank you.
Jean

Anthony,
You are right. To put things in perspective, this is cheaper than what I am paying for my GT2 engine alone, I reached a point where I am faced with the choice of either compromising on the quality of the last bits of the project, getting a divorce, or selling it to a true Porschefile.
I got offers here in the country for it, but "people" who want to offer it as gifts to their drivers or buddies (yes , believe it ) to go do donuts and quarter mile runs with it, some other asked me if they could convert it to a tiptronic because they don't like the clucth (used to Bentleys and the sort), and these guys have the cash..But not this car! It might take a while to sell, but I still have some breath.

I remember reading this test of your car and I have a second copy of the magazine if you're interested as it could be an added boost to help selling it- PM your address and I can have it sent to you - complimentary!
Good luck with the sale and the GT2 project.
Best regards

Dear Emilios
This so kind of you! I will ask you to keep it for me until a buyer is confirmed. Most inquiries are coming from the UK so far with a couple of serious interested parties, so I might end up asking from you to send it somewhere else. Shipping is on me
This is a great community.
Thank you.

Pleasure Jean!
I was actually missing that edition from my collection of 911&P world and bought it twice (by mistake) through subscriptions so that I could read about your car- got really excited about the 4-wd drive conversion!
BTW, did you have any news about those GT2 wheels? Did you get them in the end?
Best regards
Emilios

I never got your PM about the GT2 wheels! I bought Cargraphic 18's with Gold centers and a set of BBS Magnesiums as well in silver (my wife hated the Gold centers on the Carg!)..
DJ, thanks for the compliment. Hope it goes to good hands.
Rennlist members get a 1000 Euro discount!

To bad you are not in the states, I could be swayed to loose my 996 and roll into that. I have a customer who has a 3.6T setup very similar to yours and I fall in love every time I drive it. It is my roots so it explains why I have such a fondness for these cars. That is heck of a deal for someone.

Thanks, this is a big compliment, coming from THE 911 turbo expert. You know shipping is only $2k to the US I guess conversion is not a big deal as it is not OBDII.
See where I have been dragged? An ugly finale and the baby has to go now

hello
This is the test that I sugest for years now. not the big HP and a lot of (un)real RWHP counts. the real world performance counts.
the only problem is that you get not a corect reading of the speedo.
If you have something like the AP22 or motec or 2D dataloging or another acurate device then you cna accurate do this messurment
In Europe we stop the time from 100 to 200 kmh (62,5-125 mph)
here are the times
these are 100% right
911 3.8L RSR 12,3
968 Turbo S 11.9 sec
964 3.6 L Turbo ( factory tuned at 0.93 bar boost) 10,4 sec
buggati EB 110 10,4 sec
F 355 11,5 sec
993 TT 10,8 sec
Mc Laren F1 6 sec
Heavily tuned 968 Turbo (RS) 7.95 sec (at 40 degree celsius)
Viper SRT 10 (505 HP) 9,5 sec
GT3 RS 9,3 sec (factory car with more HP)
911 GT1 6,6 sec
Tech art 996 TT 530 hp 8,5 sec
Carrera GT 6,4 sec
all these numbers show the Power of the car and the accelaration but says nothing about the track time. (Carrera GT leads the track time on every test)

Konstantin, this is a wealth of information. Thanks
I think you have cross posted, the post related to 60-130 mph is on the 993TT board, here is the link.
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turbo-forum/173419-60-130-mph-new-performance-measurement.html
Please repost there as I am sure the TT guys would be interested in this info.
Give me some more time, gotta get that gearbox of yours.
BTW, either the 993TT or the 964T numbers are not right, I have tested real life, but we can discuss it on the other thread if you wish.

What a beautiful car, I wish mine were speed yellow! Can you tell me about the steering wheel? My 3.6T is the one Porsche Phd mentioned in his post, but I WANT that wheel! Does it have an airbag? Some lucky person will land the car of a lifetime, I sure hope that GT2 lives up to its advanced billing, that is some car your selling! Thanks for the post.
