Default 930 Price check

Need opinions as value of an '85 930 Black/Black. Car has approximately 13K miles. Very good exterior/interior, books, receipts, original owner.

Thanks!

I have a Euro 85 930 and love it and perfect for higher boost mods because of better fuel distribution.

At least $30K for that low mileage.

Id agree with estrella. At that mileage it should be in show condition. And theres a sizeable premium for a car with that mileage. 13K miles is probably in the top 2% of low mileage cars for 930s I would guess.

If you plan on driving it more than 500 miles a year, Im not sure its worth owning though as youll be driving off all the equity.

Even if you put 5k on it every year for 10 years you won't have mile'd it out or anything, and you will have had a ton 'o fun. The value isn't going to drop like the Hindenburg or anything, we have no idea what 930's will be worth in 10 years - not that it will ever be a smart investment, financially speaking. From a thrills standpoint, it will be CHEAP!

Conversely, there will be serious issues if the car was not driven regularly. Dry seals and oil leaks, seized stuff and electrical contact problems, etc. - that could cost you ALOT of money. Tough call. You need to check this thing out VERY carefully and, of course, get a PPI from a good Porsche shop with lots of experience with turbos. Good luck!

Tony-I drove the car and everything works, including the clock and the original AM/FM cassette. No leaks-both the underside of the car and garage floor were dry.

Here's my 85 930. It's a Euro "special wish" car done at Werk 1. Although, usually Euro cars tend to be 10-15% lower than like an 87-89, I paid a $38K premium on this one. And that's with negotiations with the PO and shipped from California.

estrallajon,
thats about the best looking slantnose I've ever seen. Tell me something whats the difference between the 930 and 930S? What extras isit with the "S"? Does it come with more boost?

No, the "S" is short for slant or slope. It came with cosmetic changes but other than that its the same as the 930.

U.S. model 930S cars (M505)have the oil cooler in the right side rear brake cooling duct instead of integrated into the front facia. All 930S (87-89)cars have steel galvanized fenders fitted at the factory. Previous factory slantnose cars from the special wishes program were fiberglass fender cars. As a model designation, 930S refers only to cars manufactured in 1987 thru 1989. I have never seen an official Porsche model designation for a 1985 930S, although special wishes program cars are sometimes given that designation "unofficially" to designate them from 930 models.

I don't think all are fiberglass since my fenders are galvanized steel as well with Werk 1 stamp on them. Not to confuse DP or Kremmer cars which are all made of either fiberglass or carbon fiber. Slant noses started way before Porsche manufactured 87-89. It was the tuner cars that Porsche got the idea of actually making it part of the line up of 87-89. However, Porsche still used Werk 1 as their suppliers to get the slant nose fenders and still be considered under Porsche warranty.

Right, the oil cooler for the M505 model is on the rear cooling duct. MY front mount is aftermarket since I get better cooling than the hidden one.

And John is correct regarding Porsche model designation on being "official" and "unofficial" on the "S"

Ok guys thanks for clearing my doubts. I guess it was the 930 LE than which came with 330bhp? What gave it that extra 30bhp than?

Classic911,
Sorry for the interuption on something else other than your question in this thread.

Sameer,
The additional 30HP was from a cam change(930grind to SC grind) and turbo upgrade to K27. These mods were done at the Werk-I facility. Later models also included a larger intercooler.

estrellajon,
Your front fenders have a "werk 1" stamp on them? Where is this stamp located if I may ask. I also think the "S" stands for Sport or Special, since the Special Wishes cars out Porsche could be had with or without the slantnose feature.

Dave, mine is located on the inside top towards the car and can be seen by opening the bonnet. It has "Werk I Gmbh #######" some kind of numbers. Just for clarification, are your fenders steel or fiberglass? John mentioned fiberglass on these cars. Starting to doubt mine since mine is steel or aluminum. However, didn't know about the grind or K27. When I bought it, it did come with the KKK K27 from the numbers I've seen. Not sure if its original or aftermarket. Not sure about the IC since I have a Kokeln

Shoot me an email off line so we can talk more on this model.
