Default Insurance Woes

What does insurance on your 930 cost you a year? Mine is outrageous. It went from $125/month for my '01 Imapala to $309 per month for the Impala and my 930. Is there a national insurance company that any of you know of that has good rates or do any of you have any tips for getting the insurance down? I've looked at the collector car insurance and it is too limiting as I enjoy driving my car several times a week. I feel like I'm geting ripped off.

I'm 32 and I have a clean driving record. I was in one accident back in '93 for which I filed a claim, but other than that I have no idea why it is so expensive. Maybe I should move to PA!

Here in Jersey it is costing me $1900.00 a year to cover my 94 turbo with full coverage and agreed value. We are considered one of the higher states insurance wise. Then again I am older too.

You can try a couple of places like Grundy and Lealand West. These companies insure cars for agreed value for less however this type of insurance may have limitations on miles driven and conditions under the claim is submitted. Do your research and it may save you $8-900 a year. Once again until you need to make a claim you may never know if the money saved was worth it.

I pay about $600/yr for 2500 mile/agreed value coverage through American Collectors Insurance. I had a tire fall off a tire pole in the garage and crack the turbo tail, so in lieu of the estimate Im gathering tomororw we'll see how they do in the claims area. In my one phone conversation they said get an estimate, take photos and email us the results. Already had the photos. Hopefully its pretty seamless.

I live outside of Boston, and believe me, the worst drivers, intersections and roads are in MASS. And, I think it's still the car theft capital of the country.
Anyway, my rate is $1975/yr with only me as the listed driver. Thank god my teenage girls are not interested, I also have 4 other cars, and with drivers ed, alarm, multi-car discount and low agreed mileage (less than 5000/yr) and it's still almost 2 grand.

Can't wait for antique plates like the MGTD... $185/yr!!!

UD... did you see this month's EVO magazine? big spread on super HP packages for WRX... up to over 400HP and heaps of TQ. I'll fax it to you if your interested (give me your #), or scan it to e-mail (please provide).

I pay about $1300/yr. for liability/collision/comprehensive on my 86' 930 in Los Angeles, CA, with a 14,000 mile/yr limit. 33 yrs. old, clean record (other than one ticket shortly after getting the Turbo, for which I completed driver's ed). I'm with State Farm.

21st century insurance has quoted me $1295/year for full coverage 12,000 mile/year. Between the two cars I'm saving $952/year. It pays to do little research!
