Default AC Compressor Part Dispute

Dear all,

I live in Berlin Germany and having a little International Drama here helping out my Father with his 1982 930 AC replacement in Arizona.

Its turned into a long Saga which I have done my Best to time line Below:

  1. April 2022 My Father hat his 930 a Stuttgart Motors in Tempe Arizona to hae the AC Compressor Replaced
  2. There was a challenge fining an original new Part in the US, My Father wanted an Original and waited till his summer trip to Berlin.
  3. We went together to the Local Porsche Specialist here where I take my Turbo. He located the Part based on the VIN and ordered it.
  4. Father took the Part Back to Arizona to have it Fitted at Stuttgart Motors however the flanges on the compressor were too Narrow to fit in the Mount without using an unsafe Number of Shims. (The car has been serviced there since new, Jack knows what he is doing)
  5. My Father calls me and asks if I can speak to my Specialist Garage here ( Name withheld) to check if the part was correct.
  6. I asked Dad for Photos but neither he nor the mechanic are Smart Phone or internet compatible, which did not help. The unit from Germany did not have a serial number on it (rebuilt I assume). It was confirmed to me that the Original Part on the car was a Nippon Denso 6P148A 047200/152
  7. I Spoke to the Indy here who asked for Photos as I knew he would. asked Dad again but at 85 if he has not learned to use a Smart Phone yet I do not have time to teach him.
  8. Jack at Stuttgart Motors found the Part in the US and installed it. Once the Car was Back at my Parents My Sister took Pictures of the German Bought compressor holding it over the top of the installed Denso Unit (See Photos).
  9. Sent the Photos to the German Indi who insists the part is right ant the only part which should be on the car. Told him it does not fit and my Father has the car since new when it was Grey imported out of Nürnburg. He still insist there was something changed on the car.
  10. In July 2023 my father brought the compressor back to Germany and I went the Mechanic here who still insisted the part was the correct part even after I told him my fathers car is 100% original.
  11. I asked him if there were possibly two types of compressor used in 1982 with the Part Number 930 126 010 00. Answer: NO
  12. As there was no Part number on the Invoice or Unit He Sold us I sked him if he was sure He was infact sent the Incorrect Unit. Answer: NO
  13. I told his the car was Original and he still insists if Nothing was changed this part is the correct one. We agreed that as it had been a year after Purchase if he can fit the part to another car he would refund the Money as he is also unable to return it. This was in July and the Part is still sitting next to his Desk.

As the owner is not necessarily the Cuddly type, especially if he is being challenged, I want to go well armed with Knowledge before I challenge him again.

The 930 is a grey Import as in 1982 these we not imported in to the US and as this is a German car I cannot see there being a different compressor installed on this car.

My assumption can only be the one now sitting next to the desk gathering dust is the wrong Part. As there is no Serial number on it I guess I would need to know the distance between the flanges on a Nippon Denso 930 126 010 00 and ween go measure the distance between the one he sold us?

I have the Part on PET and there seems to be only one type and the Part I was sold is Wrong.

Am I correct?

How can I prove it?

Thanks in advance for your input and Insights

David
