Default Lost key

I purchased a 87 930 a while back that only had one key. I procrastinated getting a 2nd key cut because I'm an idiot and sure enough I lost the only key I had to the car.

Is my only option to replace the ignition and door locks? Appreciate any help here.

Every once in awhile you hear stories how one guy's key fits into another car's locks. Maybe when things were simpler (like in these air-cooled cars) there were only so many different key cuts. So total shot in the dark, but if you can find someone else local to you whose key fits into your lock, then just duplicate his?

Someone on Pelican with an '85 recently went to his dealer to get a new key. All they needed was his VIN to cut the new one.

Default Thank you

Thank you for the response. Porsche dealership was able to use the vin and order two key replacements for the 87 930. I still seems too good to be true but they claim they will have the replacement keys in a couple weeks.

I've used this car key cut company to repair my spare key, based in London, they cut new keys too.
