Default 993tt engine in a 930

I would like to ask if anyone has done this and whether it is a practical or cost effective thing to do.

The reason I ask is that to get a 930 CIS engine to about 500+ hp (reliably) can get really expensive really quickly. If you cost out new p&c's, new manifold, new turbo, cams, intercooler, engine management, headwork, dyno time etc you are looking at big $$. Why not just sell the 930 engine and install a 993tt engine instead.

Would that engine installed in the car plus some bolt-ons such as ecu, GT2 turbos, cams be much more expensive or are there hidden issues that make it a dumb suggestion?

You can get the motor in the chassis, the problem is the oil tank has to be relocated and the mufflers need to be custom bent. You can make your own headers, but to be honest this is really difficult to place the turbos else where. Trust me BTDT.

There are a few other issues such as motors mounts etc. Nothing that can't be handled though.

I have installed a couple of TT motors, each project is always a little different, but it can be done. The TT motor will make 550-600 HP with few mods and will be fitted with the motronic which is wonderful for daily driving. The TT in a 930 is a nice setup.

So how do you overcome the wheels speed sensor/ABD/ABS motronic issues?

We can reprogram the ECU or you can always switch to an aftermarkert EFI. It all depends ont he scope of the project and the goals.
