Default GHL Headers & Oil drip tank

Anyone knows if the factory turbo oil drip tank will work with the GHL headers, or do I need to order one from GHL? If so, do I also need to change any oil lines?

thanks...

No, the factory tank will not fit. Nor will the factory line.

You need to back date like the SSI or pre 1974 oil line from the case to the thermostat. Either that or run a Areo line.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the response. Yes, in fact got the Aero line from you a while back (still haven't install it though).

But, I thought the drip tank simply goes from the bottom of the turbo to the oil ine that attaches to the scavenge pump? Do I need a different tank & line to connect it to the pump then?

Thanks...

Hi PT,

Yes, the small tank will have to be changed...it will not fit anymore with the GHL headers...

GHL makes a nice little tank and line to connect to the hard metal line that comes from the scavenge pump....and it looks good to!!!

Good luck!!!

The reason the tank will no longer work is the headers come around the front of the car instead of the rear and side like they use to. The original tank is twice as long as the GHL version. This means that it runs into the header slip connection. The other issue is the vent line coming off of the tank is also blocked by the new maze of pluming. So the only thing to do is either make a SS version with AN fittings or pick up the tank. Actually you should have gotten a tank with the headers. Let me check on Monday. I will send one to you if I have it.
