Default Upgrade question

I posted this under 964 Turbo forum, but I also wanted to seek this forums advise.

My C2T is going into a shop to get some tranny work done. The tranny has lost the 2nd gear (it acts like a neutral gear), and over time the 4th started popping out when decelerating. I drained the tranny oil to get any hints, but found nothing in the drained oil.

In two weeks, I plan on taking the car in to get the tranny work done. While the engine and transmission are out, I would like to do the following as well. BTW, I plan on using the car for street driving and occasional DE.

1. Oil leak check,
2. Valve adjustment
3. Clutch replacement (light or normal ?)
4. Header installation (GHL ?)
5. 1 bar spring

Anything you can recommend I do while I am at it that is somewhat reasonable? (Not planning on engine rebuild at this point). Also, does anyone have a good idea on how much this could cost? I think Turbo seems ok (the car has approx 65K + miles on it).

Thanks!

You should really look into that tranny problem that is the big for you now. A tranny rebuild is any where from $1500-3000 depending on what is needed. I would call Patrick Motorsports in Arizona for info an tranny and clutches. There may be a way to gear the tranny for quicker acceleration. I not sure on the G50 tranny though. How much what will cost? An engine rebuild is about $10K-$15k. A full service including valve adjustment, plugs, filters, check oil leaks is about $800-1000. The headers is about $2000 and $300 install. Boost spring is $90, but I have one for sale if you want for $45. The clutch is about $900 for a lighten one and the labor is about $200 more. I would discuss these prices with a good independent mechanic because dealers would charge you book on all the labor and you should not be charge book on clutch labor since the engine is out for the major mant. I think these are great initial upgrades. Make sure to have the fuel enriched for the 1 bar boost, talk to Stephen at imagine auto he knows alot.

Thanks Eddie. Right now, I am planning on taking the car to Eurasian in Birmingham, AL. It is an independent shop, and the owner is the regional PCA technical director who drives a 930 as a daily driver. I will talk to Patrick M as well as ImagineAuto.
I also found a guy who specializes racing trannys, but I have to ship the tranny separately to him. So far, I have not found a good economical way of separating the tranny without buying an hydraulic lift.
