Another unstamped last 50 dash plaque (I posted one earlier in the thread). Maker is unknown but they are of the highest quality with superb attention to detail. All of the plaque’s chassis number are the same font so they were likely all stamped at the same time, whereas the certificates w/ Dr. F. Porsche signature were filled-in later with owner’s name, date, and chassis number in ink calligraphy at the receiving dealership.

Usually when it’s a dark color the graphics are lighter and vise versa

However, with these cars as we all know, there are sometimes exceptions to every rule.

I've been considering a 930 turbo similar to the one above (1158). What price are these really trading for that are similar quality? TIA

Hey Rich I know you’ve been working on this list for a while. I found #1169 at Emory Motorsport in North Hollywood during yesterday’s Lit show Open house. The vehicle was locked but the 85mph odometer registered “80” miles. The paint looked like its been left outside or neglected at some point. I noticed the inspection marker on the rear view mirror which might validate the mileage. Also the vehicle’s ride height was set at the US factory level. The Interior was black with standard seats, all leather was in excellent condition. All the small “late ‘79” changes were present. I wish I could’ve seen the engine compartment but the place was very busy.

Very cool...thanks for posting.

The production number for chassis # 9309801157 should be 10022198. With these very late U.S. 1979 models, it may have been the only time Porsche matched sequential 930 chassis #'s to sequential production numbers on the assembly line (or any other 911s for that matter).

All original car - with the exception of the normal wear items, tires, etc. We get to chatting an he mentions that his is one of the last 50, we check his vin and it turns out that his is the next number higher than mine (930.980.1157). What are the odds of that? The owner is based out of Braselton, GA.
As the story goes, the Gulf car was originally ordered for the CEO of Gulf oil. It has a factory installed variable boost controller as well as a boost gauge where the clock is normally.. Very original time piece. Build date was also 12/79 like my car.

My father still owns this car. Ask me what you’d like. I’ll try to get an answer for you. He lives in GA, and I’m in CA, so there is a bit of time delay...
