Default 930 rear suspension

Would like to improve the rear end grip on my 930 (1987 model year).
It is primarily used for fast road/light track.

Can you suggest mods & prices

e.g. new dampers? thicker torsion bars etc

Are these mods really beneficial of am I trying to defy gravity?

Thanks in advance. Looking to get the work done shortly.

I had the situation and went with coilovers front and rear 300# front and 400# rear. much more solid. Well worth the cost.

I haven't had a chance to push it yet didn't do it until last fall. Will be on track in spring. On the roads it seems more solid. Definetly doesn't squat on acceleration.

Usually very stiff springs would make the car more difficult on the limit and "snappier". Judging only from my experience with my 911's it is true when I went really stiff on the race car. 300-400 pounds of springs you should be ok and for sure you are going to have a major improvement with any good coilover system.

What coilover system is most often used for 930's for light track/heavy street use?

Stiffer springs do make things happen quicker at the limit, but I would not say it make it more difficult. I run 700#/900# springs in my car, and it is very controllable. As with any spring change, make sure to adjust the shocks to match. Changing just the springs without changing/re-valving the shocks is a sure fire way to get a poorly handling car.
