Default 930 Tyres

Afternoon Gents,

I've done a search to no real avail. My 89 is running factory 7s and 9s. What is the widest tyres you can run without clearance issues on the standard wheels? My temptation is 215s and 255s, but I thought I'd ask the wealth of experience here before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance.

I'm new to this section but have done some research here before my 930 purchase. Pelican Parts has a much more active section. Have you checked there?

Typical is 225 fronts, 245 rear. You could go up to a 275/40/16’s on the 9’s if someone made that size.
the only 255/50/16’s I saw were 26” which is way too tall. Ideally you don't want to exceed about 25.5”. A 245/45/16 is about 24.6” tall.

On my 85 turbo I am running 18x9's up front and 18x11's rear, with 235/40/18 up front, and 315/30/18's in the rear.
