Rear bearing removal
I have a 930 and was wondering what the best way is to remove a rear wheel bearing from the car. Everything is off. I just need to to extract the bearing hub from the arm. Pelican sells a 911 extraction kit but not sure if it will fit a 930. They're not sure either. Not sure if a slide hammer will work.

As you are probably aware there is a inner and outer bearing on the 930 rear. Not sure where you are in the removal procedure. I did use a slide hammer attached to the wheel studs and pulled it out of the trailering arm. Hope this answers your question

Hi:
If it were mine, I'd remove the trailing arms, heat it up a bit, and press the old bearings out.
IMHO, thats the right way to do it unless you have that special puller.

Yes, I'm aware of the inner and outer. Everything is off exept for the hub and trailing arm. At this point, I was wondering if I should just remove the traling arm and have the shop do the rest of pressing out and install new bearings.
That special puller by Sir Tools did not specify a 930 and was skeptical if it will work or not. I did ask these places and they so no it will not fit, however some people have used it by modifying some parts.
If I used a slide hammer, I still have to R&R the bearings. How hard is it to remove the trailing arm off the 930?

When I did my car I did not remove the trailering arm. I bought the complete kit from SIR for about $450 I think. This way I can use it on various cars. As I recall the inner bearing came out after removing the seal. The outer came out with the stub assembly. I took the stub to my local machine shop and the guy pulled it off for about $10. The hardest part I gues was carefully tapping out the inner bearing races out of the trailering arm(aluum drit and hammer). I have heard some guys had to heat them to get them out but I didn't. The SIR tools come in handy on the install. Did you read that tech tip on the Pelican site?

Steve, actually I did read that article and was basing that on my project. A lot of people didn't think it was worth the money buying the kit. What kit did you buy from SIR?

I bought he master kit # B90 I believe. To me it was worth it cause I can use it on various cars.I had a second person help from the inside when pressing in the race. It just made it a little easier to get it started perfect.

I took Steve W's advice in a way. I went ahead and took off the whole trailing arm and I will have it pressed out and install new bearings at the shop. 1 hour labor.
