From looking at the photo of an '85, (Cool Wallpaper click the "Experience" Tab)my front bumper turn signals looks more like an "86, but then in the changes described for '86, they say the Temperature Sensor was moved to the dash from the roof. Mine is on the roof. Maybe they made a mid-year change in '85. My car was originally shipped to Buenos Aries and rejected because of some damage to the passenger door, the car was then shipped (More Black than Grey Market) to a Doc in KY. Who sold it to me. So who knows!
Anyhow, Jastex, that is a beautiful Red Slantnose!

I have an '85 930 as well. The temp sensor is mounted near the visor post(headliner). the car has the amber lenses you mentioned. The rears were "federalized" red when the car came in the country in '85. The owner quickly converted them back to the ambers as soon as he drove the car out of customs.
Here is a link to the car;

oildog,
Thanks. Actually, the first year Special Wishes Slants was 1981. I think there were just 4 built. Between '81 and '86 there were a total of 224 Special Wish Slantnoses built.

Thought I should make my contribution to this favorite tread. Some pictures of my 87, looks black in the pictures but it's actually dark blue. Pretty stock except for my newly completed EFI conversion but more to come in the future...

RSRS I like the litening holes in the rear bumber and valence. Makes it look very 934/935-ish. Nice touch too with the clear plastic "Gurney tab" on the wing. Have you experimented with a lower height one? I don't think we ever used more than about a 3/8" high one on the old Alex Job 3.8 Liter 996 I crewed on. It also helps to get the main plane up to almost level with the roof. After running in the rain I was always amazed at how little the wing was actually in the airflow in the stock position. Most of it in the center was in "stagnate" air. Good luck with her.
