Default 930 k-jet turbo question

Hi. let me start with this. I don't own a porsche proper, but i do deal in the porsche family. I sell vintage mercedes parts, they are pretty tied together. My question is about the turbo system in a 930 and what, if any parts are different than a NA porsche kjet system? I want to turbo charge my 450SLC race car and i think i can just use a boost referenced WUR from a 930. thanks and happy holidays.

Oh, also what is the ignition retard system? boost referenced diaphragm in the distributor or in the ignition box?

Yep, you got it. Lots and lots and lots and lots (and lots) of discussion on that topic (how the dual pot distributors appear to work) over in Pelican.

I assume your talking about Brian leask? I found his adjustable WUR page after I found this forum. I have emailed some questions to him but not at that address. He looks to be the man I need to speak to though for sure.

Im active on peach parts sometimes and I didn't even think about pelican for Porsche,DUH! I'll have to poke around over there. My Distributor does have a vacuum port on both sides of the canister so I guess I may be able to hook boost to the unused side. It had something to do with ac I believe. That is all gone now. I hope I can get this together on a budget , I have a feeling that this could end up getting near megasquirt 3 price range and it really won't be as good. I am going to try to pull this together and make it happen though.

Wow. So I've been in touch with Brian Bodart and he's been super helpful, I've messaged Brian Leask who builds the adjustable WUR but haven't heard from him yet. Is Brian at full capacity one of these guys or another Brian? Sorry but all I know is the WUR's I own on my Mercedes parts cars and my drift car. As far as I knew they were the same as long as they were the same type of system from the same years w/without eha valves ect. So now I'm trying to find out what the WUR's with Bosch printed tag and no 7-9 digit stamped in it are.

No 7-9 digits on here. 438 140- 054 or 112 or 153 I'm told is a correct 930 part.

Well this has been on hold for awhile. I did buy a NOS 930 WUR to try out at some point. Who's the admin around here. I got a sketchy email about a private message that doesn't show up here.

Hey there all! Revisiting this idea after much other more important stuff happening. So I'm getting more confident that my stock FD(Fuel distributor) on my v8 will supply enough to cover moderate boost. It may actually be pretty much identical to the early 930 turbo unit which is a v8 with 2 outlets plugged off as you probably know if you own one. A WUR / FD rebuilder said that the injectors may flow different in the Porsche. The Mercedes use the same ones across the board from 140 hp 6 cyl to 300 + hp 6.9 ltr v8 which actually uses the same FD as my 190hp 4.5 v8. Has anyone experimented with different k jet injectors for tuning? Does anyone have any old turbo injectors they would sell a single for me to test? Even if it's bad I can measure flow.
