12 v power
I just got a 1990 911 from a family friend thats been in a shipping container for several years. They drove it in, but now theres no 12v power or anything. I just put a new Batt in, checked that it was charged, but the whole car is still dead. Im American 60's muscle car guy, not sure where to start trouble shooting. Any suggestions? Is there some sort of fuseable link into the car from the Batt? I have no books or schematics on this.
Thank you

Thank you, I found the initial problem, there was an aftermarket battery isolator/surge protector that was shorted out. I removed that, I now have full 12v. Now it cranks as it should, but I have a no start condition, fuel was empty, added a few gallons and still no start. I dont hear the fuel pump when I turn the key, ill start with checking for spark, etc...

Consider using a "divide and conquer" approach. Spray a small amount of starting fluid into the air intake. If the engine starts or fires briefly, the problem is fuel delivery. If the engine does not fire, start with "no spark" diagnostics. Visit <http://www.bentleypublishers.com/porsche/> for a manual. The Bentley book for my Carrera is excellent, much better than the factory shop manuals I have.

I did the starting fluid, it fired right up. I checked the FP fuse, it was ok, I now have to check the relay. It also could be bad fuel, is there a way you know of to bleed the lines? Its like they put that engine in there with a shoehorn. I need to get my bearings on this car, and figure out where everything is.

Is it a c2 or a c4. Also a pic would help 😉

Thank you all!
Tracked it down to a bad FP, changed it, got it started, but it smokes a lot. The owner said it didnt smoke before he put it away, mustve leaked down into the systems. Its not on the road yet, so i cant drive it yet. Is this normal if it has sat for a very long time?

Yes. If the smoking becomes excessive, then shut it down.
I know of one 911 that caught fire and burnt to the ground due to oil dripping onto the exhaust.
