Todd,

No extra holes. The new speakers will have to fit in the exsisting openings.

I noticed you have a Morgan +8, I just sold a 59' 4/4 to buy the Carrera.
Very different cars but both are lots of fun!

Put synthetic for the first time in my 73' 450SL with 109K last spring. No leaks, but then every car is a bit different.

Great looking car. Enjoy it. Was wondering about the front lip spoiler. Can't quite make it out from the picture but it doesn't look like it envelops the valance. Am I wrong ?

Tongel,

It's actually the protection bar for the front A/C condensor, not a spoiler. Is this not a standard item?

That is a beautiful car. Don't worry about paying too much. You probably did not. After all, you got what is very close to a brand new 911. Considering they don't make brand new 911's any more, you probably got a good deal. Besides, it looks flawless. Enjoy it.

Beautiful looking car John, enjoy. Like others have said if it is what you want and it makes you happy then whatever you paid is worth it. Incidentally I've seen an 87 listed recently with 12k miles on it for 39,000 at a Porsche dealer.

$39K for a 12K miles 87'! Maybe, I didn't overpay after all. :-)

Thanks.

John,

I stand corrected but do not think that it is stock to have a protection bar for front A/C Condensor. In fact, not only is my A/C Condensor in the rear, I do not have a protection bar in the front at all. Not that the one on your car looks bad or anything - just different. Am curious to know whether other cars of our generation have a protection bar. Comments anyone ?

Tongel,

There is also an A/C condensor in the rear. The window sticker does not mention dual condensors in the option list.

What year is your car? Is it US spec?

My 87 has the same - It's the front sway bar

Mine has the dual condensors too - not that it makes that much difference. It's a tiny one.

As far as switching to synthetic on the older cars...some will begin to leak, some won't (it's a 'roll of the dice"). My '88 Commemorative Edition has the front A/C condenser with the protection bar, which is what is visible in Jeremy's picture above.

ps: The A/C on mine cools fairly well...it's not on par with a newer car, but does fine except for the very hottest of days.

KC911,

Do you have the aftermarket underdash vent to replace the factory "bowtie" near the evaporator? I understand that this helps cooling a bit.
