That's it, but you can easily upgrade to something else.

Ya ,
I have a momo and a OEM retangular to try. I'm not real fond of that style. The only other p-car I've seen that one on is a 82 924.
Who knows maybe I'll like it after awhile...... not.

Yep, That's the right one. I didn't use to like it either as my first p-cars had the newer 4 spoke style.
It first came on the Turbo and early Carreras and was probably considered a hot looking wheel in it's day when you look at the old style 4 spoke it replaced
I found a like new one for my SC and have grown to like it very much. In fact it came off an eary turbo so it kinda makes my SC a little faster too
It does have a pretty good size and design as it's comfotable and the horn works every time I go to use it. It's well padded too if you did strike it in a wreck.

Hey Tim:

I'm glad the car turned out to be the one! Is this 82 SC White/Off White in color with 70 something K miles??? If it is, I've seen it first hand as it was on consignment at the local exotic dealer that bought my 996. I looked hard at that one and a number of 993's and 911's on their lot, but hadn't decided what I really wanted until at least a month later.

If it's the same car, it's in absolute mint condition. Clearly, a well cared for example. It was first on their lot for $25K + which IMO was way high. The price dropped to $22K and then I beleive the owner's consignment commitement expired and the car was gone.

If it's not the same car, then I'd love to hear the details on this one!! Where are the pics? Enjoy!

Have you looked at the MOMO "Top Power" , to my taste they look pretty slick .

Good Luck

I couldn't live with the OEM wheel that came on the 87 911 I recently purchased for more than 24 hours. I actually went to purchase the Momo Prototipo wheel until I saw this suede Sparco wheel first hand with the square bottom. It was $189.00 dollars (not including hub) and I love it. Totally transformed the driving experience.

I hated the stock wheel on my 86, Put this Momo on about 6 years ago or so..
Thinking about a 930S wheel now.

i have that same OEM unit in my 78sc and like it fine. mine is not quite as negleceted as that one seems to have been. funny when im driving i hardly notice the look of the wheel, dont think it affects lap times either.

so to review, got the wheel, like the wheel, and could find a better place on my car to spend $100 or $200.

If you're looking for another wheel, the 930S wheel looks factory. The MOMO wheels look like......MOMO's

I don't care for the appearance of some of the Momo wheels, but I really like the Club (the picture doesn't do it justice...it's top notch quality and looks great) ...here's mine:

That was my first attempt to post a pic here on Rennlist...although I resized it, why does it appear so large?

I recovered my stock wheel with an Alan Gunn Leather Accesories kit ($65) & bought a mint horn pad ($20) at a 911 swap meet. Love the feel of it now & it looks brand new. BTW when your horn pad starts to look shabby, find a replacement. Anything else is a waste of time & money.
