Question What is the difference between a sportomatic oil tank and a regular one?

Can anyone explain the difference between the two oil tanks. Does the sportomatic have more connection holes than a regular 5 speed tank? Can I still use this oil tank when coverting to 5 speed? Where can I send the tank to get baffled for racing?
Thanks,
Chad

Hello

Sportos have two additional 12mm ports for the sporto oilines.
Can be used on normal cars just use endcaps or a ball bearing bowl with a suiting fitting.
Turbo drivers can use that oiltank as well.

The tank don´t needs baffeling for normal race applications. However with high volume race oilpumps the oiltank can be emptied faster then refilled. Thats why race cars have other oiltank setups.
911 Turbos had problems with sharp left turns under hard accelerating.
Someone makes larger oiltanks with a slight lower pickup point and 2-3 qts enlarged volume.
