Question Opinions on FilterMAG?

I've seen these filter magnets advertised recently, a magnet strapped around the oil filter to attract and hold metal particles too small to be caught by the filter paper, and was wondering if anyone has any data or just opinions on their effectiveness or need.

I am a weekend and sunny day driver of my 88 cab and don't push my car very hard. Only 57k on my car.

Opinions please.
Thanks,
Jim

You can do your own research, without spending a dime. Just take the magnet from a defunct computer hard drive. Stick it on the filter. Drive around for a few thousand miles. Cut open filter, and rip out the element. See how much ferrous metal debris is being held inside by the magnet.
Of course, there are other wear metals (Al, Cu, Mg, etc) that will be immune to the magnet......
