Default Oil pressure readings.

Can somebody post their oil pressure dash gauge readings for engine speed at cold idle, warmed up at 3k and 4k? Mine reads 2.5, 1.75 and 2. Southern California, 60 degrees f, 20/50 oil. Gauge, wiring and grounds check out ok. 88 carrera. Ii think they might be low or sending unit is suspect (hopefully). Car is running great. Thanks.

Off the top of my head, about 4-5k idling cold. So you're definitely reading low. It seems the most likely point of failure is the sender (vs. the gauge, or a truly low oil pressure).

Some useful info here, maybe, although on mine I was reading high rather than low. Good tips there on a simple test to isolate the problem as well as on how to actually do the sensor change.

As I recall, the hardest part of the whole thing was removing an AC bracket to get good access to the sender (even though I had previously removed the AC compressor and other easy AC stuff).

The second two look low, which is worrisome.
