So the leakdown numbers are good,so here is my next question. Is it normal for me to do 600-700 miles a quart of oil with numbers like that? There are no leaks that I can see not even weeping. The only other strange thing is that the oil thermostat to the front cooler does not open until the temp gauge is 3/4 way up.

2. T-stat: are you saying your oil-temp needle points to 3/4 up before it drops? If so, then yessir, your t-stat is opening very late! Every SC/Carrera of this ilk I've seen (including my 82) will open oil up to the front cooler by the 8:00 hash mark (or just barely above it, say 8:30).

Very same story....I'm in NW FL and getting similar recommendations with almost the exact conditions on my 88 3.2 w/ 85K miles. Runs fine, little smoke on start up. Took it in for tune-up to a new shop and tech checked it out and said compression test is 145 except 3 is 110 and 6 is 125. Leak down test (only #3 for some reason) is 5%. plugs showed oil/buildup and he felt it needed top end done, Set 10-11.5K but could go higher once he sends it to Patrick Motorsports for eval.
I'm concerned before spending that much, how can I know for sure it's necessary?
Any advice is appreciated

My theory on this.
If you aren't fouling plugs enough to cause misses, you make good power and you aren't clogging your cat, keep driving . It could stay the same for years.
At that price point i don't think you are going to cause more damage
