Default Is this indentation normal?

was looking under my 1973 for damage from being run off a narrow road by a moving van (long story) and saw this odd looking oval indentation in the unit body on the RH side

it is undercoated, so not new

but is it an old wound? or somehow stock?

looks to me like the car 'leaned over' on the jack at one time, or some service tech wasn't careful with his four point lift and kind of did a nasty....

tar in a can to the rescue and it's healed up again. Sort of

seems like a reasonable explanation - I need to work on the interior and will try to remember to look at the are from the inside when I do (if I ever do...)
