Fuel Injection Type and Model Years
Can someone tell me when Porsche went from CIS to the Later type injection systems and what it was (Bosch)? Also, what fuel injection systems were used on the later 911's from 89-94 C2/C4?
Thanks All,
Chris

Hi Chris:
1984 and on 911's used the Bosch Motronic EFI system. '89-'94 964's used a more complex version of the same thing. These cars didn't get full sequential injection until the '95 OBD-I model.

Porsche went from CIS to Bosch Motronic in MY1984 for the normally-aspirated 911's. This was also when Porsche went from 3.0 to 3.2 liter engines.
The 89-94 911's had a 3.6 liter engine and used the same Bosch Motronic system with improved sequential fuel injection; the 84-89 911's with 3.2 liter Motronic systems had fixed injection timing.
My source is Paul Frere's book the "Porsche 911 Story".
