Best of luck to you. It took me five years of looking to find my 88 non sunroof carrera. I advertised in Pano, and went so far as to fax every P car dealer in NA. No luck at all. Then, by chance I found one on Ebay auction out in BC Canada. Could not believe my good luck. A pristine 36,000 mile lovingly cared for car. I will never part with it. No head banging on the roof track in headliner. Even fit with a helmut for DE, although I do need to tilt the seat back a bit. I limited my search to only 88 or 89 as I feel these two years are the cream of the orignial 911 crop.

I contacted PCNA thinking maybe they would have a way to track owners of such a car. Was told they did not exist as SR was standard. True, but one could special order with the delete option. PCNA apparently does not recognize this as my Certificate of Authenticiy has no indication of it.

Again, there are a few out there, keep the faith.

It would be nice to start a sunroof-delete registry of sorts for 911's. There is a demand for them indeed - for track days, but more importantly, for we tall folks! I would love to get my hands on one....

Yep, more sunroof deletes would have been really nice... I am 6'4" and own an '84 Carrera M-491 Turbo-Look coupe WITH a sunroof. In stock configuration, I was too tall for comfort so I elected to have an independent shop remove my stock seat rails, weld in 1x1" boxed tubing and install an aftermarket Recaro sport seat. This modification significantly reduced the seat height and gave me about 2.5" additional head room. Much better! Now, I can at least live' with it... heh, heh.

Cheers!

Yeah, I hate sunroofs (less headroom, more leaks, rattles and broken mechanisms, as well as added weight at the very top of the car). I tried really hard to find a sunroof delete 993, but that is quite a challenge.

There are more non-sunroof Carreras out there than I thought.
When looking for the last year, I found many to choose from.
Most euro models, and many in the U.S. are hardtops.
Just be patient, and look everywhere!
