2.7 Exhaust Fitment

2.7 Exhaust Fitment
I just picked up a 76 2.7 911S and am looking at exhaust upgrades. I have a fabspeed set up on my 84 and also on my 964 and would like to get one for the 76 as well. Does anyone know if the 3.0/3.2 exhaust systems will bolt right in to my 2.7? I have looked but cannot find a clear answer. Also if anyone has suggestions for other power upgrades I'd love to hear. Thanks!

I would like for you to run a system on your 76 as well! That being said, we have never had a 2.7L at our facility to make adaptations for proper fitment. We know if isn't going to be a direct bolt up, but are unsure to what extent. If you have access to a muffler shop in your area, it might be worth taking a shot at it

My buddy runs headers directly to a 2-1 muffler in his 2.7. not sure of the manufacturer tho

In my research the preferred setup is either headers to a 2/1 or 2/2 or SSI if you want heat to 2/1. The dansk sport is a great quiet option, the MK are light but very loud.
Some other muffler options are, monty (expensive), bursch (cheap and loud) and OEM stuff like the various dansk models

The VERY best setup for a '75 and later 2.7 is the installation of SSI heat exchangers and a good dual-inlet sport muffler such as a Dansk.
Nothing works better and many things are much worse.

Can I get an AMEN brother Steve!
Focus on the small details. Spark, plug wires, degree the cams. You can also do some small CIS injection pressure adjustments. Getting 6 injectors with perfect spray patterns was a big gain. We got 200+ hp out of a CIS 2.7 with lots of small details and fiddling!
Listen to Yoda Steve!
