Default Tire pressures

Ok, here is the problem. I live in Switzerland and as my ex-pat German is not so good i obtained an English language handbook for my 84 Carrera to compliment the German language handbook that was supplied with the car. Now the german handbook says that rear tyre pressures should be 3.0 bar, while the English book says 2.5 bar. Which is correct? The English language book is for the US/Canadian market, while the German handbook is specifically for the Swiss market. They both agree however that winter/snow tyres should have the same pressures as Summer tyres, but what should it be, 2.5 bar or 3.0 bar???? As there is quite a difference between the two i want to get it right. I can only guess that the Swiss pressure is higher due to (generally) higher European autobahn speeds, compared to the US / Canada.

Please someone help !!

2.0 bar front 2.5 bar rear. Should also be on various stickers on the car. 3.0 bar is probably the turbo's pressure. (same handbook)

I think 'standard' tire pressure is 29 Front/34 Rear (PSI). Don't know what the conversion is to bar. I actually run my '85 Targa at 32/34 - the higher front pressures helps to keep the front end from pushing out.
