I just replaced my 89 coupe windshield, it was originally scheduled to be replaced as part of purchase but after breaking the first and not being able to get the second in, installer found out he was 1 number off in ordering, just fyi. I have a friend in glass business, I only paid $200 for an OEM glass but that was employee cost. Second quote I recieved was just under $450, one caution though, the molding around the window bends easily, $65 each side. Supplier could not ship one side because they kept coming in bent from Florida dist.

One additional note of caution is to make certain that you order the correct glass and seal, given that Porsche changed both during the middle of the '89 model year production run for the last of the 3.2 cars.
A change was made to the windshield frame pinch weld lip (from 10mm to 15mm, I believe) on all '89 3.2's built after 10-13-88. (If your door jamb VIN sticker lists a build date of 10-88, let me know, as I think I still have the TSB listing the actual serial numbers for the change in a file somewhere).
This change allowed the use of the slightly larger 964 windshield and seal that does not have the metal trim of the earlier seal. If your current (presumably original) windshield has the trimless seal, and the car was built after 10-88, you almost certainly have the later windshield.
The later windshield is factory p/n 964.541.011.00 for the glass with the tinted band at the top, and the later seal is p/n 964.541.225.00. The markings on the Sigla (with tinted band at the top) replacement windshield in the lower corner should be 43R 00 1047.
With a previous car, I once had a shop that ordered/installed the proper trimless seal, but installed the earlier, slighty smaller (and incorrect) 911 glass. The problem was pretty apparent, as the smaller glass "kind of" fits, but doesn't properly expand the seal into the windshield frame, resulting in the seals wanting to drop into the channel, especially at the corners.
In any event, double check what glass/seal you order.
Good luck,
Tim
