I found my 86 3.2 for 18k 11 months ago.Cosmetically it was painful to look at, but compression/leak down was solid and rust was non existent.
It's possible, but between the scams and your being in Germany it's very difficult to weed out the garbage. Craigslist is a good place to start. Enthusiast sites like RL and Pelican might be tough.
GOOD LUCK!

Never say never. All depends on who is selling and why.
If I had to pick a particular year and model, I'd say a 75 - 77 Targa is the lowest on the food chain. The 2.7 is going to be a gamble with those years, and especially if it had / has AC. No matter what, it will need work.

I respectfully disagree on craigslist. To me it's a cesspool that attracts the worst of the worst of the bottom feeders. The noise to signal ratio is very bad. Infested with scammers, curbstoners, sketchy characters. Personally I'd never buy a five digit item off craigslist.

One option is to look at used PCA race cars.... many of these have significant expensive modifications, but are obsolete for racing, and not streetable. If the engine is sound, they could be the basis of a nice hot-rod.... and they tend to run in the $25-30K range, depending on the seller.
