Default low pressure regulator

Called shop and explained that sometimes at a low rpm, w/ steady foot on the gas, the car is "bucking", like I'm quickly pumping throttle. They told me it sounds like my low pressure regulator. That an easy DIY to replace??

I've never heard the term either. You have a pressure regulator and a damper-both easy to test.
