I bought a car from him several years ago and he took a little time to get me the title. It was a consignment car. Not sure why.

I think Richard is quite ill at the moment. Have you contacted his son Brett who runs the business with him?

They are brokers. Anybody can do this because it doesn't require any"skin in the game". (It's why there are so many Johnny Come Lately flippers around.)
In this case it's also why you see such high prices. If you don't have a floor plan/financing to deal with you can sit on a car a long time.

Speaking of flippers, check out this can of worms.

Sloan actually will list cars they don't even have on consignment-been there seen that. And have had one here that was not NEARLY as represented.

Sounds like a typical dealer floating money around...6 months is way too long though. I would be getting a lawyer in line. That being said I'm sure you'll get your cash. I always thought Sloan had a good reputation and just sold over priced low mileage collector Porsches.

Same here, but 6 months waiting for your money is inexcusable. You should have been paid within 2 weeks. How long does it take to write a check? What does your consignment contract say about payment? I would have filed a small claims suit at the two month mark.
