Default 1996 993 broken rubber cooling part

Greetings- on my 1996 993 there is a rubber boot which bolts to the top of the cooling fan assembly. (Please see photo.) Mine is very broken. I would be very grateful for the exact function, part number and replacement instructions for this part.

Thanks very much!

Part number should be 993.106.403.00

It is very common for this part to fail as the rubber dries out and eventually gives way under the air pressure.

It is easy to replace.

It would be best to post future questions for your 993 in the 993 forum.

Default rubber boot part

Yes, the 993 forum would have been the correct location.

Could you share how you determined the part number? Buy from the dealer is the best plan?

Many thanks!

Default Broken air duct boot

With the part number, thoughtfully supplied in this thread, I was able to find a source, and a very helpful description of the replacement procedure:

Rennlist is great!

Most Rennlisters use Sunset Porsche for parts. They are one of very few dealers that sell parts heavily discounted. Good to load up on several items to help defray shipping cost; good news is there is no sales tax in Oregon. Do you keep in your car an extra DME relay and the 3 belts...just in case.
