Default Technical data on oil cooler? Part# 96420722002

I am looking to install an OEM Porsche oil cooler on a project car, and I'm curious if anyone in the forum can tell me what the ID and pitch is on the cooler itself. They come supplies with a M30 1.5 adapter to the Porsche lines, and that part itself is also available separately. I'd like to screw in a more common adapter to go directly to AN fittings of my choice.... ie not use the 30mm adapter that comes with it.

ECS sells the cooler, here is the one I'm talking about. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That looks like the 964 oil cooler. Are you working on a 911 or a 964?

The 911 oil cooler is very different:

Default Love that site

http://www.elephantracing.com/oilhan...hoilcooler.htm

The same cooler is shown here, on that page too.

This has been described on many websites as being found on 911, 964 and 993 cars. I believe one site said 911 89-98 Carrera 4.

That is a photo of the oil cooler I want to use, I'm quite sure of that, regardless of which car it came from. What I really want to know, from the collective wisdom of the forum is what the actual ID and pitch is on the cooler....so I can use a different adapter, and order that and have it on the way as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Alex.

Default Cross posting, better section?

At the risk of cross posting, and upsetting the moderators... is there a better sub-forum I should post this question in?

This is a 964/993 std rt side oil cooler

Alex.
This is a 964/993 std rt side oil cooler, it would be very difficult to use in an '89 or earlier 911. The 964/993 cooler is mounted longitudinally where the narrower 911 cooler is mounted transversely.

This is a cooler for an '89 and earlier 911

The widemouth ie larger I/O ports is an Elephant proprietary feature

I see your problem. They stopped making 911s in 1989.

Your need to check the 964/ 993 forum.

Default Answer is....

Well, RM European offered a recent 5% off on anything, so the price for this item dropped enough with free shipping to make it reasonable to order.

The factory fittings are in place with a crush washer and spec out to M22x1.5

This is a common size, and different places do stock a replacement fitting for M22x1.5 direct to AN so people can make their own light weight hoses elegantly attached to this cooler.

Pegasus sells a Setrab M22 x 1.5 to AN8, AN10 or AN12 male terminations.

The Setrab has an O-ring vs Crushwasher, but its more than a third of the price of a crush ring version from Pegasus at least.

Thanks for the different leads, but here's the answer so that anyone else trying to follow along might have it at hand.
