but it is from Porsche Classic so i think ill use the money for my top end rebuild instead
does the bluetooth support music streaming ? or is it only for phone functionality. i would hope it supports Music streaming at this price point, especially since cables and clutter in any car are not the most advisable way to go.
Streaming music would eliminate the need for a usb and ipod header no ?

No because the audio quality really, really suffers by using BT streaming...and this on formats like Pandora or MP3 that compression has already destroyed.
The prices are all over the map. Sonnet Porsche has it for 1182 which is great if you don't live in California. The real issue at the moment is they sold out in 1 day their first deliveries.
Here's all the info and we are offering FREE Next Day shipping upgrade with a pre-order ($100+ value in some areas of the US). Radios are in route, get on the list before they're all spoken for.
Are these going to continually get upgrades as the years pass by and technology marches on? I would hope so.
That's a pretty loose question. If you mean will Maps and POI's be upgraded...sure. Porsche would be foolish let reoccurring revenue not develop. So you will be able to buy those on SD card.
If you mean BT standards via firmware updates, maybe, done at the dealer for a cost.
Hardware upgrades like HD Tuners ..probably not but possible through external tuner but highly unlikely.
SAT- it says compatible but says to go to this generic page on the XM's page and try and find the right tuner. Probably wait on that one.
Thats about it, what you buy is what you will have forever.
