Default Cracked Driver side mirror glass

I got an '84 911 with flag mirrors. Was trying to take out of garage and accidentally hit edge of garage door with mirror. Driver side mirror assembly rotated but the edge of the garage frame cracked the glass. I managed to get the glass/plastic backing off by gently pushing it out. The three pins are in tact. And detached the wiring for the heated back plate.

What are my options for a replacement?

Should I order a new glass assembly? Checked online and cheapest is $100+. Or
Should I just find a way to remove the glass from the plastic/heated backing plate and get a new one cut for much less? I don't know how to separate the glass from the plate as it seems to be glued.

I searched the forums on this topic but nothing discussed separating glass from back plate. Very much appreciate the help. Thanks
