Paint Scheme for 1966 911
I have a 1966 911 that I've owned since 1984, I'm the third owner. When I bought the car I knew it had been repainted with a"decent" job. I quit driving the car in 1988 when I acquired a 1973 911E which I enjoyed far more. The 1966 is currently undergoing a complete body empty restoration, the car is rust free but needed considerable "refreshing". I'm not sure of the exact correctness of the paint on the car I bought, I'm now ready to paint the car which was completely stripped by "walnut" blasting. Specifically I am seeking information from a member that has an early 911 on EXACTLY where the base color (Polo Red) and the black color separate. what about the bottom floor pan, the engine compartment, the luggage compartment? On the engine lid underside, is it black or body color, or is there a point at which they meet? same on the luggage lid. The interior, other than the dash, is it paint or a texture coating? Early 911 owners, your help is appreciated.

You might want to jump over to the early 911 S registry for some assistance. http://www.early911sregistry.org/forums/content.php
