All the best with your 87 911. From following internet car sites and speaking with other Porche folks, your price definitely more than reasonable for a G50 Coupe in good condition, even if you have to put some money into it .
Enjoy.

Congratulations, welcome to the club and enjoy that glorious sound behind you.
Oh and BTW, air-cooled Porsches are like potato chips, you'll soon be looking for a stable-mate.

Congrats on the 87. You'll love it. I've owned mine for 19 years now. Easy to maintain and reliable as hell.

Regular oil and filter changes, brake pads and periodic flushing and tires and they just keep ticking.

Congratulations!... You're going to love it! These cars are simply fantastic. I'm 10 months in with my '87 Carrera.
Love the color

Congratulations on your purchase of a 1987 Carrera.

Go find a good service shop with an electronics expert who can chase down the electrical loss. Many times on that vintage car it is something like an alarm system that has a constant drain on it.

They can chase that down within an hour or so. You will be happy to have resolved that one little issue that makes owning the car much more pleasurable.

Being in LA, you should be able to get very good service life from a new battery. You never have a cold cranking issue here.

What color is the car? Is it the car in your avatar?

Good luck!
