Default Engine Rev Issue

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
I have a 86 911 with 134k miles. Just recently at around 24-2500rpm while driving the engine appears to be missing/rpm's hesitating.Tacho flutuates 200rpm or so.
As soon as I pass that rpm range all is good. It's as if I'm laboring the engine which I'm not.
While driving and accelerating through this rpm range theres no problem. It's only when I'm in stop and go traffic which we get alot of in San Jose area .
Would appreciate any input, which would steer me in the right direction.
Many thanks in advance.
David

David,

When troubleshooting a running issue, address the basics first!

1) Plugs, plug wires, cap & rotor all must be PERFECT

2) O2 sensor must be operating correctly

3) Fuel and air filters must be clean (including the in-tank one)

4) Do a leakdown test to make sure the engine is in good health

Hope this helps you,

Sound advise Steve.

I was just hoping other forum members had a similar issue, that could chime in, that would lead to a easier diagnosis.

Thanks, i suppose the only way to know would be remove all injectors and test for fuel delivery pattern. I guess I was looking for a simple solution
