Default will a 3.2 swapped sc if done right pass smog in California?

Looking at a car soon with a 3.2 swapped into an sc if everything is stock on the 3.2 will it legally smog in California?

to do the swap properly, all of the emissions systems/controls have to be swapped. Once done, it has to be reviewed by the BAR. They'll issue a certification that it is a smog legal swap, and you'll be smogged as that later year from then on.

Does it have a BAR sticker?

I'll make sure to check all that out. Is it possible for some smog shops not to know about the swap and run it as if it had the stock engine

I'm sure you can find a blind smog guy who only cares about what comes out of the pipe. If they go to the book for instructions, I think the changes to the distributor would be obvious.

I believe there's a component checklist, called up on the smog computer, that the technician is suppose to reference. Knowing how some of the smog guys in my area (Monterey) operate, I would expect them to notice.
