will a 3.2 swapped sc if done right pass smog in California?
Looking at a car soon with a 3.2 swapped into an sc if everything is stock on the 3.2 will it legally smog in California?

to do the swap properly, all of the emissions systems/controls have to be swapped. Once done, it has to be reviewed by the BAR. They'll issue a certification that it is a smog legal swap, and you'll be smogged as that later year from then on.

I'm sure you can find a blind smog guy who only cares about what comes out of the pipe. If they go to the book for instructions, I think the changes to the distributor would be obvious.

I believe there's a component checklist, called up on the smog computer, that the technician is suppose to reference. Knowing how some of the smog guys in my area (Monterey) operate, I would expect them to notice.
