Help me identify this car?
I've been lurking here for a little while looking for info on my first Porsche. I have stumbled on this car which is being listed as a 1969 991e with a 930 conversion in 1985. Where did the signature headlamps go? Trying to understand what it is as it seems like a really good price for the condition.

Fair enough. I guess it is that strange. I was hoping it was just some kind of bodykit on the front where I could maybe find original fenders and bumper to reverse what they have done.
They are asking $15000 so if it only needed the fenders and bumpers to make it whole again wouldn't be bad.

If they are only asking $15k, there's probably a good reason.
Perhaps if they can send more pictures, and you can confirm the year and extent of...improvements they visited upon this defenseless automobile, you can better assess the work involved in returning it to a less defaced state.

I don't think there's a need for more pics. But I encourage you to just walk away from this one and save your $15K. Take your time to learn more about what to look for in a Porsche. If you are really looking for a very nice sorted driver air cooled 911 you probably need +$25K. Skip these conversions - you just never really know what you're getting and who really needs to buy a can of worms that spoils your first Porsche ownership dream. And if your budget is below $30K then look for a 2002 - 2004 Porsche 911 or Boxster - there's some great cars in great condition within that budget. Take your time no need to rush.

Fixing the proverbial sow's ear is fun for some, but expensive and labor intensive for all.

Thank for all the input. I truthfully I am not in a position to buy anything yet anyway without really juggling some things around. Going to keep lurking on here awhile while I figure out exactly what I want.

Worth MUCH more as a stock 69 911E.
Plastic & bondo can hide rust..
