Corrosion issues 1968 911T (rusting from inside out??)
My extreme happiness about owning my first 911 turned to extreme anxiety when I lifted the drivers side carpet on my car. I found some serious floor pan corrosion which actually extends up beyond the floor pan into the structure that the seat bolts to on the outboard side of the car. I am no body expert but this doesn't look good at all. Hoping some of you more experience Porsche experts can chime in on the options going forward. Here are some pictures of the area, including some picture of the torsion bar area and rockers on the same side.

Do you know what the "kidney bowl" is on these cars? Take a look in there. Regardless you have some rust repair in your future but for the short term it shouldn't stop you from enjoying your car. You can drive it but you don't really want to finish the carpet replacement until you are done.

Forward of the torsion bar cover. It's where the front edge of the rear fender meets up with the door jam, and the rocker, and the floor all come together. It's likely the root source of your rust.
Here's what it looks like once the outer skin gets pulled away:

So I guess I can inspect the area by looking forward in the rear wheel well? Is it visible without panel removal?
