updates
I towed the car across the border from Whistler to Washington.
Then had the car put on a carrier to the restoration shop in Florida.
We stripped the car and put it on a rotisserie for media blasting.

The plan is to get the tub completely restored and ready for paint.
here is the result of the media blasting.
I will be calling restoration design tomorrow to order all the new panels required.

In the mean time, looking for parts i came across another 1969 sand beige T in roller form. (no engine or transmission)
Rust free california car that was "updated" to a 1974 bumpers at some point.
Came with good full interior, gauges, glass, window frames etc.
The car is so good that we decided to also restore this tub side by side of the inital car.
AND i located/bought the original case last month!
So now we will have two tubs! Yes, 1969 Sand Beige twins!!
This tub has an aftermarket sunroof which will have to go and the front pan has a slight twist on the passenger side so we will have to put on frame table, but other then that is is 100% rust free and original metal. Still has factory undercoating and interior sound insulation in excellent condition! One of the most dry tubs we have ever seen.

Car #2 Interior is decent and will provide a good base for restoration. Carpet templates etc.
The door panels are later 911 and are better design than 1969 door panels/handles but we might use something more "ST" style to maintain period correct. We have time to review that idea.
As good as the front seat might be, we are thinking period correct sport seats.

In looking for original correct 1969 parts to complement the restoration, we have sourced a nice 1969 three bar grill and correct Konis with S callipers and vented discs front and rear. (came off a 69E parts car)
Original 911 hood, front bumper with rear bumper corners/center panel complete the package apart from front fenders... still looking for good front original fenders.
Thanks to fellow rennlister GT3DE, we now have a complete set of deep 6 Fuchs for the front (including spare) and 7R rears that he delivered to me during the PCA 48 hours of Sebring club racing event.
All restored by Havey Weidman.

As luck would have it, we found a complete running 1969T engine and transmission with less than 7000 original miles on it.
Sent it to Orbit Racing to have it inspected and prepped for installation.
(The plan is to add 69S heads, custom cams, pistons and cylinders to wake it up).

CT is in the North East, no? They likely exist, but behind iron clad gates where the public isn't allowed to go. There is a part I am after right now that they don't even have. Thinking it's time to relearn fiberglass and make a few.

progress
After we stripped the car and bought another car for parts, we stopped the project until our metal guy returned for October.
In less then two month we have the underside completed and painted.

I have two 1969 911T. Both are original sand beige cars. Both have COAs.
The one pictured being built in this thread is not numbers matching. It was the perfect donor for my hot rod project. A fully restored early LWB 911 hot rod is what i desired.
It does however retain a 1969 911T engine and transmission. The car is very correct for 1969. As a purist, I am a sucker for correct, even if building a hot rod!
The other car i have has the matching #'s case. So it would make a nice restoration as an "original" car.
I will be selling this car with all the metal work complete and ready for paint as a roller. I will not be completing this car as one 1969 is enough for my plate.
If anybody is interested, Given the cost the buy a decent tub and title and then complete the metal work, the selling price will be to recoupe my costs.
It would make a nice car for an original restoration because of the matching #'s case, but the body would also make a great donor for a hot rod if desired.
I will have a bunch of parts from my other 1969 that will go with the project including seats and engine parts.

Tom,
Interesting to see your progress on the '69T, approximately in parallel to mine. And of course I follow your questions over on the early ESSES site. Here is my '69T as of late spring with body, paint, and interior all done; nothing has happened since then except to accumulate all necessary parts (made a bit tougher by Jim Breazeale's retirement this week!). The engine rebuild, install, and final finishing assembly will happen over this winter and next spring (I hope not into summer...).
