Default New Member Introduction

Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a minute of your time and introduce myself to this forum. I have admired and wanted a Porsche 911 since way back in the early 70's when I worked in a Porsche / VW repair shop while in college. After retiring 3 years ago, I decided the time had come to get what I had wanted for so long so I began to educate myself and to begin a search. I read all the books, forums etc. and finally wound up buying a car from one of my neighbors who had owned it for the last 25 years - he was 2nd owner. It is a totally original 1982 911SC sunroof coupe with 85,000 actual documented miles with very complete service records. It has the original paint and interior and everything works. After reading " 101 projects for your Porsche 911", Bosch fuel injection and engine management", ordering a Bentley service manual and reading the last 3 years of posts to this forum, and anything else I could find, the following upgrades etc. have been done.
Carrera cam chain Tensioners
All shifter and peddle assembly bushings replaced
Carrera front oil cooler and fan added
All rubber oil lines replaced
Valves adjusted
Brakes flushed - pads and rotors were new
Spark plugs, rotor and cap replaced
engine and transmission oil changed
fuel tank sending unit replaced
Clutch adjusted
Air box pop - off valve installed
replaced front a/c condenser fan
Engine mounts replaced
Fused dash lights and front condenser fan motor

Car drives great and I am really enjoying it!

Again, Hello everyone, I am looking forward to being an active contributing member of this forum, Thanks!

I will attempt to attache some pictures.

Congratulations! Seems like you got a very good car. I'm a bit jealous, haven't found mine yet.

Welcome and congratulation. Nice to find one so close with all of the history and low miles. Have fun.
