Default Ride height

1988 Targa sits too high in the front. Can the ride height be adjusted?

Yes. It's just about the easiest thing you can do to the suspension on this car.

....That is if it isn't so bad that you've got to re-index the torsion bars.

There is an adjustment screw/bolt that raises and lowers the ride height shown below in the red circle. ....In my picture below I hadn't gotten the screw installed yet, but the red circle shows you where it is at.

Draw a line on the head of the screw so you can keep track of where you are at. If you want to lower the car an equal amount on each side turn both the left and right side screws the same number of revolutions. Keep track. Take measurements. Make sure you don't back the screw all the way out. Enjoy.

It is. Somewhere there is a data table that will tell you what each turn of the screw equals in ride height. I've never looked at it. ....I like to just screw.

And as you lower it, the front toes out. Been so long since I had my alignment rack and worked on torsion bar cars, but 1" lowering leads to 1/2" toe out?

Experts: What is the proper, not too high, nice and sporty low, proper rake, ride height measured at fender lip on wheel centerline? Mine is too low, specifically in the back. I need to get it fully aligned which I will pay to do shortly, while I'm also having turbo tie rods installed.

fender lip measurements are incorrect. Use the center of torsion bar to wheel center differential method. Set it at euro height, corner balance and align.

You might if you're 2-3% cross weighted, threshold braking, and the light RF hits gravel/is otherwise traction compromised versus the LF (or vice versa).

See you are in San Clemente. Know of any good alignment shops in North County SD through San Clemente for the older cars? I have a 78 911 and looking for the right shop for alignment

Ken, if I get myself into that situation, I'll deserve the stains on my seat. I don't think I've got 100 miles on the new brakes anyway.
