A bunch of Rennlisters are cruising to Ventura on Sunday for the Porsche Autofest. The main group leaves from Malibu (Sunset & PCH... Von's pkg lot) at 8:30am. See the 993 Forum for a couple of threads.

Cross posted from another BBS:

Another great year at the German AutoFest. This year, there was an R-Gruppe/Early S Registry/Anyone-Who-Wants-To-Come caravan up from San Diego and Los Angeles, as well as an afternoon drive and dinner, organized by R Gruppe.

About 25 cars gathered at 6:30 am at Paramount Ranch. Tha San Diego contingent met us there.

Then we made the drive to the Camarillo Airport, where we met still more guys. Pelicanite WolfTurbo was there with his new Kelly Green RS, as well as his Emerald Green 74 Euro Carrera.

Nice, huh?

There were about 25 cars that met at the airport.

Here's a 3.5 meg video clip of me walking through the cars at the airport.

And here's a 1.3 meg video clip of me driving past the cars at the airport.

Then we had a drivers' meeting for the trip to Ventura. Here's a self-portrait form that:

Sam is back in the saddle. He brought his Lagoon Green Turbo Look.

Then he took a group picture.

Dick Moran had his black 73T there. The car is kind of like BB1, but with a beautiful twin-plug 2.9, and absolutely gorgous period-correct details. Imagine getting a brand new Porsche in 1973. Now imagine it about 500% better than the best they had to offer that year.

The motor might look like this:

The rest might look like this:

Pelicanite 'Ted Drake' (aka Mike) had his new street-car black Turbolook:

Jim Planet had his black car done up for track use:

Here's a 1-meg video clip of the cars on the freeway on their way to the AutoFest.

Once there, the early cars got special parking:

BB2 parked next to Dick Moran's masterpiece:

As always, there were cool cars:

This is an event where if you want to see a particular 911 variant, like the RS America, you can probably find a whole bunch of them:

You could also find Elephant Racing's Gulf Blue and Orange show car:
