Unhappy How to ship a windshield?

I've been trying to sell some parts off of a couple of early cars, but I'm not sure how to best ship some of the larger parts? Most troubling is how in the world do I ship a windshield?!? I'm also trying to figure out how best to ship an early hood?

I know UPS has a size limitation (I believe it's L + (2)W + (2)H <165"). But what do I do if my part is larger? And what can I do to the windshield to ensure it doesn't break?

Help?

Crate the windshield in a wooden box. May not be worth the hassle though.

FedEx has less restrictions on size. Try them, if that's still too little you will have to go with a trucking company.

I had found a great shipping place in town that would arrange for all my shipping needs. I had shipped american V8 engines up to entire cars with them. They outsourced things to trucking companies and they boxed the stuff for me.

Cheers, George

Airborne Express doesn't have size limitations. At some point in size, they determine the weight based on dimensional size. I recently sold a set of metal oil lines/thermostat (package around 7'x3'x8") which I shipped by Airborne. Expected the dimensional-based shipping to be around $95, however, they only charged me $17. Don't know why, didn't argue.

Thanks guys, I'll look into those.

And George, if I do sell this windsheild, I'll make sure it's worth my effort.
