Default Alarm Bypass

My 89 has the factory alarm without the key in the door. I may have a short or issue with the control unit. The alarm horn went beserk last night while I was out for a ride. Not fun - actually mostly embarrassing. I don't really want to troubleshoot this now while the weather is good. I read an old post on Pelican saying "remove the alarm module and jumper '61' to 'A'. " Has anyone tried this with good results. Thanks guys.

I paid a shop 3 hours to remove my alarm after a bunch of issues. Mine would randomly go off.
