Default Front Plate / Inspection

Does a front plate need to be mounted in NYS for an '84 to pass inspection? I know there are exemptions for classics, such as CO2, etc. Not sure about plate though.

Ask in OT. Several New Yorkers there.

You're supposed to have a front plate in NY. The only exception is if you have a car registered with vintage "year of manufacture" plates and it was a one plate only year. The last one plate year in NY (to the best of my knowledge) was 1965. Those were the black with yellow "Worlds Fair" plates. I had a 1965 vintage VW Beetle registered with one.

Thanks, I ran to local speedshop and picked up a used bracket for $15, going to slap it on for inspection!
